Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct Hot Mix Asphalt and Aggregate Testing: sampling, aggregate gradation and mixture volumetric property determination where
- Maintain test result database including inputting data.
- Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from acceptable standards.
- Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
- Communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
- Act as fill in QC technician at Plant sites when needed.
- Act as fill in Weighmaster for plant sites, following weighing procedures and working with state agencies as
- Maintain current certifications and expand certifications to allow cross-training throughout
- Perform back up parts running for plants, construction and maintenance shop as
- Maintain confidentiality of aggregate lab and testing
- Complete and report accurately on timecards and other needed
- Avoid unsafe actions, processes, and
- Understand gradation quality and specifications
- Knowledge/understanding of project specifications
- Knowledge of applicable government regulations
- Ability to pay attention to detail

- Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) in accordance with company policy

- Must work as needed, given the unpredictability of how long jobs or trips will take, including overtime, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications
- 2-years’ experience in Hot Mix Asphalt and Aggregate testing is Preferred.
- Knowledge of the Caltrans, ASTM, AASHTO and project standards governing testing methods and acceptance
- Must be able to read, write and speak
- Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word programs
- Must be able to apply moderately complex mathematical
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related
- Candidate must communicate effectively (listening, speaking writing) and be able to multi-task under pressure and complete tasks by
