Duties And Responsibilities

1. Conduct Hot Mix Asphalt and Aggregate Testing: sampling, aggregate gradation and mixture volumetric property determination where
2. Maintain test result database including inputting data.
3. Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from acceptable standards.
4. Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
5. Communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
6. Act as fill in QC technician at Plant sites when needed.
7. Act as fill in Weighmaster for plant sites, following weighing procedures and working with state agencies as
8. Maintain current certifications and expand certifications to allow cross-training throughout
9. Perform back up parts running for plants, construction and maintenance shop as
10. Maintain confidentiality of aggregate lab and testing
11. Complete and report accurately on timecards and other needed
12. Avoid unsafe actions, processes, and
13. Understand gradation quality and specifications
14. Knowledge/understanding of project specifications
15. Knowledge of applicable government regulations

38. Must work as needed, given the unpredictability of how long jobs or trips will take, including overtime, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2-years’ experience in Hot Mix Asphalt and Aggregate testing is Preferred.
• Knowledge of the Caltrans, ASTM, AASHTO and project standards governing testing methods and acceptance
• Must be able to read, write and speak
• Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word programs
• Must be able to apply moderately complex mathematical
• High school diploma or GED equivalent plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related
• Candidate must communicate effectively (listening, speaking writing) and be able to multi-task under pressure and complete tasks by
