About the role

Quality Control technicians at SRNS are responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet quality standards and specifications through the implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures. They monitor, inspect, analyze, and investigate electrical, electro-mechanical, and nuclear components, subassemblies, and assemblies associated with the manufacture of nuclear weapons and other non-nuclear components as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, work involves monitoring, inspecting, analyzing, and investigating electrical, electro-mechanical, and nuclear components, subassemblies, and assemblies associated with the manufacture of nuclear weapons and other non-nuclear components as applicable.
• Performs basic set up, alignment, preventative maintenance, and/or calibration of conventional and machine-specific inspection tools and/or equipment.
• Assists in performing quality assurance reviews to ensure all product specifications are met during fabrication (e.g., size, shape, etc.).
• Works closely with product acceptance to implement required changes based on verification results.
• Aids in investigating quality and/or manufacturing nonconformances and implementing corrective actions appropriate for the identified deficiencies.
• Produces legible, correct, and accurate records, inspections, and analysis and applies good judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
• Precisely follows prescribed safety procedures in the handling of explosive, toxic, flammable, or otherwise hazardous materials.
• May work with professional staff to establish new and/or improved procedures.

Requirements

• HS diploma/GED
• Q clearance (or ability to obtain)

Qualifications

• Safety is a primary and crucial responsibility in each job performed. Technicians in this position are required to successfully complete all safety training; to obey all safety rules making safety an integral part of each task.
• This may involve working with individuals to complete Individual Hazards Analysis before beginning any new work as well as other actions aligning with integrated safety management protocols.
• Safety also includes the personal responsibility to 'stop work' if any task is either unsafe or may create an unsafe condition.
