Quality Control Specialist I
About the role
We're excited to have you join our team as a Quality Control Specialist I. You'll be responsible for checking, testing, and inspecting raw materials and products at various stages. Your duties include conducting routine analyses and tests, comparing physical characteristics to technical specifications, and utilizing precision measuring equipment to ensure product quality meets expectations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine analyses and tests of various components
- Compare physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects
- Perform visual and measurement inspections using complex measuring equipment (Zeiss or Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines, Smartscope or RAM)
- Utilize precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, master gauge blocks, indicators, surface gauges, surface plates, sine bars, etc.) to accept or reject parts
- Read and decipher complex technical drawings and incorporate tight tolerances into part inspection process
- Input and analyze statistical data using SPC software, document data obtained during inspection processes, and examine statistical data to determine and maintain quality and product reliability
- Operate inspection equipment, troubleshoot issues affecting product quality, and report problems to leadership as needed
- Train other employees on inspection tools/equipment, processes, GD&T, and technical drawings
- Perform internal audits in accordance with Company and customer quality control standards
- Assist and/or perform in any and all areas as assigned
- Work any and all shifts/days as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1-3 years of applicable product inspection experience
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrates proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and possesses intermediate math skills
- Exhibits strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Works effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Has attained qualified status on the use of multiple precision inspection equipment tools in assigned area under limited supervisor, such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, federal gauge, Styre, Talyrond 73, FPI, video scopes, and lighting equipment

Schedule
Under minimal supervision, performs visual and measurement inspection tests including calculating distances, angles, radius tapers, thread and gear data using complex measuring equipment (i.e. Zeiss or Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines, Smartscope or RAM)
