Responsibilities
- Evaluate completed construction work against client specifications, engineering designs, company standards, and safety requirements
- Identify defects, workmanship issues, and compliance gaps, and accurately document findings through reports and photo validation
- Verify proper installation techniques for aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NESC standards, utility requirements, and company safety policies
- Review construction practices related to pole attachments, grounding/bonding, splicing enclosures, handholes, pedestals, and restoration quality
- Provide real-time feedback and coaching to field crews, subcontractors, and supervisors regarding quality expectations and corrective actions
- Monitor adherence to project scope, build specifications, timelines, and customer requirements
- Complete audit reports, inspection documentation, and quality tracking using company systems and software platforms
- Identify recurring quality trends and support retraining and process improvement initiatives
- Participate in quality improvement efforts, standardization initiatives, and operational reviews
- Cookordination with construction management, engineering, and field leadership to resolve quality concerns and ensure corrective action completion
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in telecommunications construction, utility construction, or outside plant (OSP) field operations
- Exposure: Aerial and underground telecom construction environments, fiber and coax construction standards and installation practices, directional boring, trenching, conduit placement, and restoration activities, pole line construction, strand and lash work, grounding, and utility coordination, quality assurance processes, inspections, and audit procedures, interaction with field crews, subcontractors, supervisors, and customers in active construction environments
- Factors critical to success: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy, ability to identify issues and provide constructive feedback and coaching, solid understanding of installation standards and customer experience expectations, effective communication with field teams and leadership, commitment to safety and compliance standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 pounds
- Ability to operate tools and construction equipment safely
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and wear required PPE
