Quality Control Scientist

About the role

MilliporeSigma is seeking a Scientist, Quality to validate methods and technical transfers, and provide technical and analytical leadership to the Quality Control department. This role involves analysis using various tests and instruments, including HPLC, GC, KF, DSC, TGA, IR, MS, NMR, and XRPD. The position requires the ability to work independently with some guidance and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform method validations, transfers, and analytical testing of cGMP materials, ensuring data accuracy with proper techniques and documentation.
• Conduct and contribute to peer review of analytical data to ensure quality.
• Train new or less experienced personnel on SOPs, analytical methods, and instrument operation.
• Maintain a safe, audit-ready, and clean lab environment with rigorous data integrity.
• Manage lab upkeep, including ordering reagents, ensuring clean glassware, disposing of waste properly, and performing general housekeeping.
• Tackle complex data-analysis problems, apply critical thinking, and lead root-cause analysis in OOS/OOT investigations with corrective/preventive actions.
• Perform instrument PVs and OQs, and coordinate with internal and external groups to keep projects on track.
• Author and revise SOPs and specifications, ensuring compliance with ICH Q7 and 21 CFR Parts 11/210/211, and supporting right-first-time data integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science discipline, with 5+ years of experience in a GLP or cGMP analytical laboratory environment.
• Preferred: Experience with method validation, project lead, team and client interactions, technical writing skills, and knowledge of organic analytical chemistry.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $63,600-$95,500, with the actual compensation offered determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. The position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
