Quality Control Receiving Inspector

Job Summary

The Quality Control Receiving Inspector is responsible for interpreting engineering data such as drawings and specifications and inspecting in accordance with the data. The role requires competence in using measuring equipment, performing visual and dimensional inspections, and understanding visual and cosmetic standards.

Summary of Job Duties

• Interpret engineering data such as drawings and specifications
• Competent in using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection
• Perform receiving and first article inspections
• Perform inspections to visual and cosmetic standards
• Write inspection reports and nonconformance reports
• Understand root cause and participate in corrective actions
• Perform review of supplier certifications for conformance to requirements
• Data collection for statistical analysis
• Must understand and be able to interpret tolerances
• Must understand and be able to interpret geometrical and positional tolerance requirements

General Qualifications

• A High School Diploma is required.
• A two-year college (Associate Degree), Trade/Technical School or certification is desired.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Certificates and Licenses

• ASQ Certification desired

Supervision Provided

Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship and measured based upon how well tasks have been completed. Receives detailed instructions as needed.

Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.

Language Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
