Job Summary

The Quality Control Receiving Inspector is responsible for interpreting engineering data such as drawings and specifications and inspecting in accordance with the data. They must use standard measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, perform visual and dimensional inspections for receiving inspections on aviation parts from details to sub-assemblies, understand visual and cosmetic standards, write inspection reports and nonconformance reports, understand root cause and participate in corrective actions, perform review of supplier certifications for conformance to requirements, collect data for statistical analysis, and understand and interpret tolerances.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

  • Interpret engineering data such as drawings and specifications
  • Certified in using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection
  • Perform receiving and first article inspections
  • Perform inspections to visual and cosmetic standards
  • Write inspection reports and nonconformance reports
  • Understand root cause and participate in corrective actions
  • Perform review of supplier certifications for conformance to requirements
  • Data collection for statistical analysis
  • Understand and be able to interpret tolerances
  • Understand application and use of all types of precision measuring instruments used in mechanical inspection, including interpretations of geometrical and positional tolerance requirements
  • Travel as required to support suppliers or source/auditing inspection program

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • A two-year college (Associate Degree), Trade/Technical School or certification is desired.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSE

  • ASQ Certification desired
