Position Description

Responsible for planning, coordinating and developing the project‑specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan that incorporates the policies and procedures necessary to deliver the project fully compliant with the contract documents. This position will be based in Turner’s Denver office and assigned to a project location in Corinne, UT (travel package available for non‑local candidates). The role reports to the Project Manager or Project Executive.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of the project‑specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project team, owner/architect team and contract documents.
  • Ensure sufficient, qualified specialized staff are assigned to execute the plan.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to achieve full compliance.
  • Lead, supervise and develop all Turner QA/QC staff, including performance appraisals.
  • Enforce strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract documents, plans, specifications and applicable codes.
  • Create and manage engineering procedures, document control, RFIs, material samples, cost change tracking, and approved change orders within budget.
  • Integrate the QA/QC Plan with the project safety plan.
  • Coordinate QA/QC procedures with the project execution plan and schedule.
  • Continuously improve strategies and tools for documenting, tracking and recording contract compliance.
  • Engage all project staff, subcontractors, vendors and consultants in executing the QA/QC Plan.
  • Conduct testing and inspections, arrange third‑party testing, analyze results and report findings.
  • Expand and refine the QA/QC Plan as the project progresses.
  • Direct removal, replacement and documentation of non‑compliant materials or workmanship, and verify corrective work.
  • Research and apply additional QA/QC and Lean procedures to enhance project delivery.
  • Oversee project close‑out and preparation of quality reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, materials, installation procedures and tolerances.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Turner’s project management software and demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership qualities with a desire to teach and mentor staff.
  • May require QA/QC certification depending on the specific project.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and occasionally taste or smell. Frequent standing and walking are required, as well as occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The role is performed on‑site at construction locations, exposing the employee to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Noise levels range from moderate to very loud. The employee may also perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Salary range: $115,300.00 – $178,500.00 USD annualized.
