Job Summary

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Quality Control Manager to support a historical rehabilitation project within Hot Springs National Park. The QCM oversees construction projects, conducts meetings, verifies materials, performs tests, and manages subcontractors to ensure quality control.

Job Functions

  • Oversees construction projects from start to finish, focusing on quality control.
  • Verifies and documents that all materials are in conformance with the approved submittal and are acceptable for use in the project.
  • Reviews plans, specifications, and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Performs specified or required tests to verify that control measures are adequate to provide a product which conforms to contract requirements.
  • Manages the project "as-built" drawings and develops, updates, and maintains the project submittal log.
  • Schedules, documents, and maintains logs of all inspections required to conform to the project contract requirements.
  • Provides written daily QC reports reinforcing work activities are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructsively confronts non-conformance to produce the requirements that comply with the contract.
  • Manages time efficiently and uses discretion to stop work if necessary to resolve matters affecting safety, quality, and logical progress of work.
  • Advises on changes to methods and materials for use in projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of Construction Management experience.
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements on federal projects, including field experience providing oversight on construction site work activities.
  • Experience working on historical renovations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, building, and construction materials, methods, terminology, phases, documentation, and the tools involved in the construction, repair, or remodeling of structures and sites.
  • Good understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry and the ability to create and administer new QC programs.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Completion of the course “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” offered by USACE or others and OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 years.
  • First aid/CPR certification.

Location

This position requires onsite presence 5 days a week at our project site in Hot Springs, AR. Per diem will be provided for those willing to travel or relocate from other locations and work onsite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00.
