Position Summary
This position requires a self-driven, well organized Quality Control Lead who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. This position reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the review, and maintenance of the SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, pest control and environmental monitoring programs on assigned shift(s)
- Independently initiates new process improvements and cost savings projects
- Working with the plant to comply to customer requirements and maintain high industry standards
- Lead annual training sessions for GMPs, HACCP, Food Defense, Food Fraud, Certification Standards, and ongoing quality initiatives on assigned shift(s)
- Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all food safety, employee safety and quality policies and procedures
- Maintain and enforce all food safety, employee safety and quality policies and procedures
- Manage non-conformities and rework projects on assigned shift
- Perform document review of staff monitoring checks, perform positive release of CCPs for both liquids and dry processing lines
- Provide Quality certification training for operators and quality techs on assigned shift(s)
- Comply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programs
- Function as back-up for Quality Technicians when vacations or absences occur on assigned shift(s) including weekends as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- 2-3 Years’ experience in a quality control or assurance role
- Current work experience in food manufacturing with HACCP, GMPs, and SQF is required
- Strong computer skills, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross functional teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines
- Able to take initiative and work independently
