Quality Control Lead

About the role
The Quality Control Lead will lead a team of quality control technicians and inspectors in a hands-on capacity, overseeing the day-to-day duties and tasks of the quality control department. You will serve as the Point of Contact for outside agencies, coordinating information both off-site and on-site.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates samples of incoming materials
- Assists with and performs pre and post pour measurement checks on precast parts
- Inspects cages, forms, and parts during in-process and finished stages
- Uses cylinder break machine to test samples
- Distributes reports and tests as necessary
- Uses hand measurement tools including calipers and dial gauges
- Performs quality control checks
- Pulls samples from the production floor
- Ensures Quality Control Technicians and Inspectors follow standards and escalate issues when necessary
- Other duties related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis
Requirements
- Absolute commitment to safety and integrity in the workplace
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Vocational training/certification, related experience, or a combination thereof
- At least 1 year of related experience (preferred)
- Completed Quality Control training including: NPCA PQS1, ACI CFTT grade 1, and ACI CSTT
- Ability to read and understand Quality Control manuals and training packages well enough to explain them to outside agencies and peers
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
- Previous experience scheduling and coordinating with outside agencies to ensure Quality Control transparency and expectations are met
- Interest in expanding skillsets and growing within the company
- Computer literate; experienced with Microsoft Office software, Teams, Krinkle, Command Batch, and SmartSheet
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently or request a team lift for up to 80 lbs.; confidence to stop a task and find the right lifting device when needed
Pay
The hourly pay rate is $33–43/hr.
