Quality Control Lead

About the role

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is seeking a Quality Control Lead to lead a team of quality control technicians and inspectors. This hands‑on position is responsible for the day‑to‑day duties and tasks of the quality control department, ensuring standards are met throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate samples of incoming materials.
• Assist with and perform physical tests on plastic pipe and fittings.
• Inspect plastic pipe and fittings during in‑process and finished stages.
• Use saws to cut test samples.
• Distribute reports and test results as necessary.
• Utilize hand measurement tools such as calipers and dial gauges.
• Perform quality control line checks and pull samples from the floor.
• Ensure Quality Control Technicians and Inspectors follow standards and escalate issues to supervisors/managers when needed.
• Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned, on a temporary or permanent basis.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Vocational training/certification or related experience (combination acceptable).
• At least 1 year of related experience (preferred).
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and directions.
• Effective verbal and written communication with superiors, colleagues, and external contacts.
• Computer literate; experienced with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.

Pay

Hourly rate: $25 – $30 per hour, with bonus opportunity.
