Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician Job Description As a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the preparation of materials for testing and aiding professional or certified individuals in conducting various laboratory tests. This role involves the receipt and preparation of samples through front-end automation, storing samples in refrigerated and frozen archives, and using computerized reports to retrieve and reconcile samples for additional testing. Additionally, you will prepare buffer materials and manage specimens and supplies. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of materials for testing.Aid professional or certified individuals in performing laboratory tests.Receive and prepare samples through front-end automation.Store samples in refrigerated and frozen archives.Use computerized reports for retrieval and reconciliation of samples.Prepare buffer materials.Receive specimens and some supplies.Process and record information from collection centers.Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.Dispose of samples into biohazard containers after testing.Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.Use laboratory computerized inventory management system to track testing status of samples.Monitor inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify supervisor of inventory needs. Essential Skills Basic computer skillsAbility to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentsExperience in handling and tracking donor samples Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentPreferred: Laboratory experience in production line workKnowledge of quality control and assurance practicesUnderstanding of medical technology and analysis Work Environment The position operates on a 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3 PM. The work environment is within a donor processing/manufacturing facility, offering a structured daily operating rhythm without 'on call' or STAT lab requirements. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.35 - $16.35/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
