About the role
Silvus is seeking a Quality Control Inspector-I who will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team. Primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring proper procedures are followed for incoming electronic and mechanical parts and during the manufacturing and testing process. This role is also responsible for investigating any quality issues, anomalies, or failures and will work alongside engineering and suppliers to recommend any necessary changes or improvements. This position will report into our Manufacturing Leadership.
This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, located at our Salt Lake City facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
- Conduct inspections tied to receiving raw materials, parts, components, and fit checks as necessary.
- Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
- Prepare in-process inspection reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain Quality documentation.
- Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of electronic part inspection experience.
- Experience utilizing inspection tools (e.g., multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
- Ability to read basic schematics, specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.
- Read and interpret part documentation, including blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
- Utilize Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and various communication systems effectively.
- Maintain clear and accurate records and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and capacity to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent and effective oral and written communication.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.
Preferred Skills
- IPC-J-STD 610, 620, or 001 certification.
- Ability to follow and recognize the importance of processes and procedures.

- Effectively evaluate workload and manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Working Conditions
- Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
- Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
- Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
- Walking/moving in the labs.
Pay
$21.50 - $23.50 per hour. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
