Quality Control Inspector I

About the role

You will ensure that products, materials, or processes meet established quality standards before they reach customers. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and measuring products, identifying defects, documenting findings, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. You will verify compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and safety standards to maintain consistent product quality and improve manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand basic GD&T (blueprint reading)
  • Perform mechanical/dimensional inspection of diverse product lines
  • Review/audit required documentation: CoC, CoA, FAIR
  • Write DMRs (Defective Material Reports) as needed and coordinate RTV Tracker (Return to Vendor)
  • Use measuring and monitoring equipment (calipers, height gages, pin gages, verniers, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Material Review Board, Planning, Purchasing, or Quality Engineering to resolve open issues
  • Review COCs (Certificates of Conformance), Purchase Orders, and Test documents for completion accuracy
  • Inspect parts during in-process production and proactively communicate errors and systemic trends to the supervisor
  • Participate in cross-training activities as both a trainer and trainee
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Participate in audits, including safety, internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Support special projects and other assignments as directed by management

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No prior experience required in the area of responsibility
