About the role

Silvus Technologies is seeking a Quality Control Inspector-I to join the OQC team. The primary responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring proper procedures are followed for incoming electronic and mechanical parts and during the manufacturing and testing process. This role investigates quality issues, anomalies, or failures and works alongside engineering and suppliers to recommend necessary changes or improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
  • Document inspections of receiving raw materials, parts, components, and fit checks as necessary.
  • Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
  • Prepare in-process inspection reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain Quality documentation.
  • Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, or similar software.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or previously held).
  • Familiarity with electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or production environments.
  • Experience with inspection tools such as calipers, microscopes, multimeters, or magnification devices.
  • Ability to identify workmanship defects, cosmetic issues, and nonconforming conditions within electronic assemblies.
  • Interest or passion for electronics, technology, aerospace, defense, or related technical industries.
  • Ability to quickly learn technical processes, inspection criteria, and company procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional production and quality teams.
  • Demonstrates a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) awareness and handling practices.
  • Experience reading or interpreting assembly drawings, work instructions, or basic technical documentation.

Compensation

$24.20 - $25.30 / hourly

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

  • Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
  • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
  • Kneel or squat to access lower shelves.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
  • Walking/Moving in the labs.
