Responsible for
- Maintains compliance with codes and standards
- Inspects welded products and dimensions
- Documents inspections on required forms and drawings
Essential Functions
- Monitors welding on a spot check basis
- Monitors welding procedures on a weekly basis and records results
- Completes Inspection and Test Plan
- Performs dimensional and visual inspections (excluding finished welds)
- Performs non-destructive testing if qualified
- Takes notes of non-executed inspection processes and communicates with Forman
- Ensures adherence to quality assurance standards
- Communicates with production leads, supervisors, and QA Manager regularly
- Supports and trains new employees as needed
- Assists other employees as necessary
- Works under the direction of the QC Manager
- Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
- CWI Required
- Five (5) years welding experience
- Possesses math skills in imperial and metric systems
- Reads measuring tape, adds and subtracts simple fractions and decimals
- Reads and interprets work orders, job specification sheets, and approved shop drawings
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Lifts up to 60 lbs
- Speaks and reads English
- Experience in Structural Steel operations (preferred)
- High School Diploma (preferred)
