About the role
The NISC IV contract provides technical support to various Air Traffic Control Towers, Terminal Radar Approach Controls (TRACON), Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC), the FAA Air Traffic Organization headquarters and Regional Offices. In office in College Park, GA.
Responsibilities
- Review, develop and oversee the processing of aircraft accidents, aircraft incidents, air traffic incidents, and safety initiatives.
- Identify potential quality control concerns after significant events and respond or follow up.
- Provide one-on-one morning briefings to the Air Traffic Director.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and process events forwarded by headquarters.
- Support the review of proposed changes to the National Airspace System (NAS).
- Build safety cases and identify risks.
- Interact with senior level management and internal and external customers.
- Foster an environment of cooperation between different departments and co-workers.
- Determine facility compliance with operational and administrative requirements.
- Maintain general oversight of the Quality Control Program.
- Interface with ATC field facilities, Service Center, Headquarters, and vendors.
Requirements
- 10+ years previous FAA Air Traffic Controller experience in a terminal or enroute facility.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- FAA management experience.
Qualifications
- Planning: Conduct efficient, organized data gathering and data analysis, develop project plans, establish project schedules, and conduct requirements studies.
- Communications: Accomplish clear and concise general and technical writing, prepare, and conduct effective technical presentations, provide thorough project monitoring and reporting, and tactfully coordinate with a variety of project stakeholders, peers, and management levels.
- Computer Applications: Capable of applying MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management applications, OneNote, and know how to use the Internet as a data gathering and communicating tool.
- Administrative: Provides organized documentation and has an awareness of general document sharing.
Skills
- Previous experience at a level 10/11/12 Air Traffic Control facility.
