Quality Control/ Finished Goods
Summary/Objective
The Quality Control/Finished Goods position ensures that all finished metal castings meet company and industry standards for quality and performance.
Essential Functions
Conduct thorough inspections of metal castings to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall quality against specifications.
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques as necessary to identify any defects or inconsistencies in finished goods.
Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and results to support quality assurance and compliance initiatives.
Prepare detailed reports highlighting quality trends, non-conformities, and recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Participate in root cause analysis for quality defects and collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop effective solutions.
Aid in developing and refining quality control procedures and protocols to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to quality control in metal casting.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the quality control processes.
Support internal and external audits related to quality control procedures and documentation.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in quality control within a metal casting or manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with quality management systems and tools is a plus.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
Regularly standing for prolonged periods of time.
Sitting, some walking.
Repeating much of the physical motions throughout the shift.
Using their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Operating a variety of equipment and hand tools in a repetitive manner.
Carrying and/or lifting up to 25 lbs if needed.
