Summary/Objective

The Quality Control/Finished Goods position ensures that all finished metal castings meet company and industry standards for quality and performance.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct thorough inspections of metal castings to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall quality against specifications.

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques as necessary to identify any defects or inconsistencies in finished goods.

  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and results to support quality assurance and compliance initiatives.

  • Prepare detailed reports highlighting quality trends, non-conformities, and recommendations for improvement.

  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality defects and collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop effective solutions.

  • Aid in developing and refining quality control procedures and protocols to enhance product quality and efficiency.

  • Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to quality control in metal casting.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the quality control processes.

  • Support internal and external audits related to quality control procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.

  • Previous experience in quality control within a metal casting or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems and tools is a plus.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and heavy equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly standing for prolonged periods of time.

  • Sitting, some walking.

  • Repeating much of the physical motions throughout the shift.

  • Using their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

  • Operating a variety of equipment and hand tools in a repetitive manner.

  • Carrying and/or lifting up to 25 lbs if needed.
