Quality Control Bench Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure daily quality testing and documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Work with other departments to maintain product quality and specifications.
• Comply with Food Safety regulations and maintain SQF certification through GMP adherence and good housekeeping.
• Maintain inspection-readiness at all times.
• Monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness.
• Perform various analytical tests and checks on each batch, including acid, salt, viscosity, and color.
• Correct batches that are out of specification.
• Test fillers before each line startup.
• Test finished products for acid, salt, viscosity, and color hourly.
• Inspect labels, codes, and weights on finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Put products on hold if they do not meet specifications.
• Collect samples for shelf-life and microbial testing.
• Calibrate acid and salt titrators daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure product is free of contamination.
• Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
• Report any suspicious activities.
• Inspect work area for product contamination issues continuously.

Essential Qualifications

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Take prompt and appropriate responses to operating conditions.
• Work in an unfatigued state.
• Accurately gauge lengths of time and distance.
• Accurately store and recall instructions in short-term memory.
• Cope with sudden changes in surroundings and/or emergency situations.
