About the role

The AH-64 Quality Control Technical Inspector will support the US Army Flight Test Directorate (AFTD at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Support includes completing all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and managing internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records. Compliance with current Army directives, including AR 95-1 and AR 95-20, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect all phases of a variety of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Ensure all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
  • Communicate deficiencies to proper personnel and follow up to ensure corrections are made.
  • Accurately document results of all inspections.
  • Maintain accurate quality control files.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations.
  • May be required to perform other additional duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ Army Aviation maintenance experience.
  • Completed a military aircraft repairer school for AH-64A/D/E.
  • Three (3+) years’ Army Aviation maintenance quality control experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • At least two (2) years of experience related to developmental flight testing.
  • FAA A&P License required.
  • Working knowledge of ACN, including associated historical forms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in management, production management, aviation maintenance, professional aeronautics with technical specializations, or aviation quality.
  • Thorough knowledge of Army rotary wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations.
  • Verifiable experience applying aircraft maintenance techniques and quality control functions to include automated TAMMS-A.

Skills

  • Basic mathematical computations.
  • Effective communication with all levels of management and staff.
  • Reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite and learning additional computer skills/software programs.
