Quality Control

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Make and print certificates from daily bills of lading.
• Perform daily LWCs and Shear quality audits.
• Conduct Groovers and Super Coiler quality audits as needed.
• Carry out physical testing of finished products, including dimension checks, Rockwell hardness tests, grain evaluations, and pull tests.
• Inspect furnaces at least hourly, ensuring correct product loading, monitoring temperatures, and speeds.
• Quarterly perform micrometer testing of operators and conduct refresher training as necessary.
• Answer questions and assist operators as needed.
• Yellow tag material in question until first shift can make a decision on corrections or alternative usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including record keeping, cleaning, filing, etc.

Other Functions

• Make decisions regarding material compliance with customer specifications.
• Bring non-conforming coils to QA lab for further inspection and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years’ experience in quality assurance or manufacturing preferred.
• Good analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments and external parties.

• General manufacturing environment with minimal physical requirements.
• Flexible work schedule to support all shifts as needed.
