Job Summary

At BioLegend, we commercialize high-quality reagents to support the research community. The Associate for BioLegend's Quality Control group will test products such as antibodies and proteins in various applications including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, ELISA, multiplex immunoassays, and functional bioassays. Responsibilities include performing assays following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ISO requirements, culturing mammalian cell lines, isolating primary cells, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, troubleshooting, efficiency and process improvement projects, and creating and modifying SOPs. The role requires generating and presenting data summaries, providing estimated times of arrival (ETAs), and assisting with training others on specific protocols.

Essential Functions

  • Perform testing of reagents in a timely manner
  • Perform aseptic cell culture
  • Isolate primary cells and tissues
  • Perform data analysis and document results
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory
  • Assist with troubleshooting, efficiency and process improvement projects, and creation and modification of SOPs
  • Generate and present data summaries
  • Provide ETAs
  • Help train others on specific protocols

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 6 months+ experience with some of the following applications: flow cytometry, western blotting, Immunoprecipitation, bioassays, ELISA and IHC/ICC (a plus)
  • 1 year working experience in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
  • Experience with some of the following applications: flow cytometry, western blotting, Immunoprecipitation, bioassays, ELISA and IHC/ICC (a plus)
  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment and knowledge of lab safety protocols
  • Experience in sterile cell culture technique
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Excellent documentation skills

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The base salary range for this full-time position is $19.00 - $26.50/hour.
