Job Title: Quality Compliance Specialist Job Description The Quality Compliance Specialist supports the Quality Compliance Manager in ensuring that all facilities consistently meet global food safety, regulatory, and customer audit requirements. This role helps implement, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve Quality Compliance Programs across multiple locations, including prerequisite programs required for compliance with cGMP, GFSI, BRC, AIB, FSMA, and internal company policies. The specialist promotes a strong food safety and food quality culture, serves as an on-site assistant to the Quality Compliance Manager, and plays a key role in audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and ongoing standardization of corporate policies. Responsibilities Support the Quality Compliance Manager in leading, training, and managing quality auditing activities across all facilities to ensure specifications and goals are consistently met.Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining compliance with all elements of the Quality Management Systems and best practices.Conduct internal audits to prepare management teams at all plants for regulatory inspections and third-party audits, ensuring programs, procedures, and documentation remain current and audit ready.Assure compliance with applicable government regulations related to labeling, safety, quality, legality, and authenticity of products, including adherence to HACCP and cGMP requirements.Prioritize and perform audits as a primary day-to-day responsibility, documenting findings and supporting corrective and preventive actions.Utilize TraceGains or similar systems to support compliance, documentation, and supplier or product-related data management.Lead safety trainings for employees, reinforcing food safety and food quality culture throughout the organization.Participate in client inspections, including traveling to customer or facility locations as needed.Conduct plant inspections at multiple facilities to verify ongoing compliance with internal and external standards.Support product development activities from a compliance and regulatory perspective to ensure new products meet all applicable standards.Participate in recall activities, including documentation, traceability, and coordination with relevant internal teams.Draft, update, and maintain programs, policies, and procedures related to quality compliance, food safety, and regulatory requirements.Communicate effectively with nearly every team and individuals at all levels of the organization to align on compliance expectations and outcomes.Contribute to the ongoing standardization of corporate policies and continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and quality. Essential Skills 3–5 years of experience working in food compliance and regulatory environments.Hands-on experience with compliance, auditing, quality assurance, and quality systems management in the food industry.Demonstrated experience with FDA and BRC standards, including FDA and BRC auditing, as core requirements.Experience with customer audits and internal auditing in a food manufacturing context.Knowledge of GFSI-related schemes and regulatory frameworks such as BRC, SQF, RFPO, AIB, cGMP, FSMA, and HACCP.Experience in regulatory compliance management, including labeling, safety, quality, legality, and product authenticity requirements for food manufacturers.Strong proficiency with office productivity tools, including solid experience with Microsoft Office and basic Excel functions.Ability to lead safety trainings and communicate clearly with diverse teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple facilities, audits, and compliance activities concurrently.Willingness and ability to travel regularly between multiple facilities as required by audit and inspection schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.Experience with SMETA audits or social compliance assessments is a strong plus.Internal audit certification is highly valued; the organization is willing to support obtaining this certification if not already held.Experience with nutrition labeling and related regulatory requirements is a significant advantage.Previous experience in a family-owned or long-tenured workforce environment is beneficial but not required.Interest in contributing to a strong food safety and food quality culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Schaumburg, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
