Students will have opportunities to develop skills in: Analytical laboratory testing and sample preparationQuality assurance and quality control processesLaboratory equipment calibration and verification proceduresData collection, analysis, and interpretationStatistical evaluation and trend identificationContinuous improvement and process optimizationCross-functional collaboration with laboratory and operations teamsProfessional communication and technical reporting skills What You'll Do The Quality Co-Op supports the Quality Department by assisting with laboratory testing, quality assurance activities, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that help ensure product quality and operational excellence. Conduct standard laboratory tests on production and special project samples while following established procedures and good laboratory practicesAssist with laboratory instrument calibrations, performance checks, and test validation activitiesSupport special projects involving comparative testing, method evaluations, and laboratory process improvementsCollect, organize, and analyze quality data to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for improvementCollaborate with Lab Technicians, Chemists, Data Analysts, and Quality leadership to support departmental objectivesAssist in maintaining laboratory records, documentation, and reporting systems to ensure data integritySupport efforts to keep laboratories clean, organized, and operating efficientlyDevelop reports, recommendations, and presentations that support quality and operational decision making Required Qualifications Sophomore standing or higher pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific disciplineMinimum 2.75 GPAAbility to work in an industrial manufacturing, mining, and chemical processing environmentKnowledge of basic chemistry principles and good laboratory practicesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracyEffective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment Preferred Qualifications Completion of college laboratory coursework involving analytical testing and data collectionExperience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial environmentCoursework or project experience involving quality assurance, quality control, or statistical analysisExperience interpreting data and identifying trends to support business decisionsInterest in industrial manufacturing, mining, chemical processing, or laboratory operationsAbility to effectively work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment The Fine Print Benefits and perquisites may vary based on the nature and location of each job.
