About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Auditor to join our team at our Britton, South Dakota location. This role is vital in ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards and customer expectations. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Quality Manager, utilizing their knowledge of production processes, quality tools, and inspection techniques to uphold and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection functions as directed by the manager, including bearing quality checks such as seal integrity, surface condition, and rotational functionality using appropriate measurement tools like air gauges.
• Input inspection data into SPC software for traceability purposes.
• Package and prepare units for assembly and remanufacturing processes, including printing labels with relevant information, attaching identification labels and serial numbers, and boxing finished bearings according to standard operating procedures.
• Utilize hand carts and material handling equipment, such as stand-up forklifts, to transport finished goods to designated areas.
• Conduct assembly process audits utilizing product knowledge and inspection equipment to verify conformance to customer requirements.
• Perform assembly and ODW inspections, documenting and communicating findings clearly to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Perform incoming material inspections, reviewing shipments for damage, verifying specifications, and recording data accurately.
• Collaborate with suppliers by processing material certificates and supporting manufacturing process improvements.
• Conduct shipping inspections, including audits of shipping labels, packaging, and paint quality to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management to foster continuous quality improvement within the organization.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of college or trade school education, or equivalent experience in a related field. Equivalent education is considered as two years of closely related work experience for each year of education. Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Candidates should have a solid mechanical aptitude and previous experience in quality assurance or inspection roles is preferred. The ability to interpret technical drawings, measurements, and data accurately is crucial. Pay

This position offers an hourly starting rate of $23.69, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Standard working hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional overtime as required.
