Quality Assurance Tester

About the role

Quality Assurance Tester position located in Charlotte, North Carolina (onsite). This is a 12‑month contract role for a Software Tester on an ATM platform. The role involves planning and executing regression tests for all releases of ATM applications, developing and reporting on appropriate tests, documenting defects after troubleshooting, and incorporating software, hardware, and firmware testing into the process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and document tests.
• Execute tests and troubleshoot issues to narrow down problems.
• Document defects and issues with appropriate due diligence.
• Understand the Agile process and the tester's role within it.
• Assess and refine Epics, Stories, and bugs.
• Document test plans and test cases/scripts.
• Test ATM software on hardware devices within a lab setting.
• Execute and document testing results, including troubleshooting and reducing defects to their most succinct steps.
• Perform software installations, condition data, and communicate test environmental issues.
• Function effectively in a lab environment and work collaboratively with hardware.
• Conduct exploratory and UAT testing, working with business partners to gain acceptance.

Requirements

• Experience testing a user interface with the ability to manipulate data.
• Experience with device testing in a lab environment.
• Understanding of the Agile framework and use of Agile tools for test management and defect tracking.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with functional and manual testing methodologies.
• Ability to use test management tools such as Jira.
