Quality Assurance Technician, ON, Dairy - Deerfield

About the role

This position involves performing various tasks related to food testing and quality control in a dairy facility.

Responsibilities

• Performing microbiological tests
• Testing fat composition
• Performing raw, intermediate and finished milk and product analysis
• Performing environment tests
• Flavoring product
• Inspecting Plant and upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Providing accurate and timely information to department managers
• Keeping records and documentation of test results
• Creating and communicating laboratory reports for regulatory agencies and Publix associates
• Aiding teams in applying information for process improvement and resolving quality issues in the facility
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Obtain lab certification by state and/or FDA
• Be able to taste and evaluate all products
• Have analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate safe working habits
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Able to learn and perform all positions
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good human relations skills
• Able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Adequate attendance and punctuality
• Excellent safety work habits
• Able to assist other team members in other areas
• Able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
• Able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
• Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
• Possess basic math skills
• Able to communicate effectively
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
• Show a commitment to Publix and our mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Dairy Science, Microbiology OR other related curriculum
• Two years laboratory experience or equivalent experience
