About the role
We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with product specifications. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is ideal, with a background in printing, packaging, or a similar industry being a significant plus.
Pay range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Examine purchase orders and other documents to secure details regarding size, colors, content, and other product characteristics being inspected for.
- Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications, the company’s quality control system, and conformity to specified standards.
- Test samples of product and document results.
- Approve or reject product and write reports of inspection results.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem-solving situations.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions; include appropriate people in the decision-making process; make timely decisions.
- Understand business implications of decisions; display orientation to profitability; align work with strategic goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); college degree in a related field preferred.
- One year or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year or more of experience working in a manufacturing environment; printing, packaging, or folding carton experience preferred.
