Quality Assurance Technician

Location: San Diego, CA • Duration: 12 months • Schedule: 40 hours/week, 1st shift • Employment type: Contract on W2 (US citizens or green-card holders only)

About the role

Performs visual, mechanical, electrical, and functional testing of medical-device instruments and disposable products. Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment such as microscopes, tensile testers, precision balances, and pressure regulators. Ensures equipment is in good working order and within calibration limits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual, mechanical, electrical, and functional testing using test protocols, test-method memos, and verbal instructions.
• Generate spreadsheets and reports to document test data, including statistical calculations (standard deviations, averages, minimums, maximums).
• Maintain organized, accurate, and detailed records of tests performed, including deviations from test methods.
• Monitor test progress and keep requestors informed.
• Maintain a clean, organized test area.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and ISO 17025 in support of laboratory compliance.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to respond to questions from engineers and managers.
• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical tasks.
• Convert between metric and other systems of measurement.
• Understand written and oral instructions.
• Recognize deviations from expected results and collaborate to solve practical problems.
• Experience with word-processing and spreadsheet applications preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Pay

$20–$30/hour
