Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Moncks Corner, SC • 5-month contract • 40 hours/week • Pay rate: $20–30/hr • 1st shift (6 AM – 4 PM, Mon–Thurs)

About the role

Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspection on a variety of in-process and finished medical-device products using observations and simple gauges.

Responsibilities

• Work from drawings, written instructions, checklists, and pictorial, verbal, or physical standards to evaluate product conformance to specifications.
• Apply knowledge of products and production processes to assess conformance to specification requirements.
• Communicate non-conformance to the production supervisor, discuss corrective action, and follow up to ensure effectiveness.
• Accept or reject work based on sampling plans and AQL levels; initiate rejection notices and maintain written inspection records.
• Inspect incoming raw materials as needed.
• Recognize conditions outside specific instruction that require corrective action and initiate programs to address them.
• Report to supervisor any conditions requiring action beyond the scope of the job.
• Assist with data collection and testing on special trials.
• Assist in reviewing and updating quality documents in area of responsibility.
• Cross-train in various QA functions throughout the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong abilities in science and/or math.
• Ability to make decisions and work independently.
• US Citizenship or Green Card required.

Physical demands

• Frequently stand, walk, use hands or arms to handle objects/tools.
• Occasionally sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
• Close vision and depth perception required.
• Work near moving mechanical parts; noise level is usually low (hearing protection provided if noise exceeds OSHA limits).
• Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses and appropriate shoes; occasionally wear an apron.
