Quality Assurance Technician
About the role
The Quality Assurance Technician develops and implements programs to establish and maintain quality standards of existing products and services, as well as developing programs to focus employees on the quality of care given to patients. This role performs advanced administrative, operational, and customer support duties requiring independent initiative and judgment, and may apply intermediate mathematical skills.
The Quality Assurance Technician develops policies, procedures, and methods to check operational quality and improve it. They train and/or coach staff and management in areas such as quality improvement, process management, and reliability science. This role maintains communications with administration, medical staff, and department heads regarding quality assurance activities.
Decisions typically focus on methods, tactics, and processes for completing administrative tasks and projects. The role regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting procedures, working under limited guidance due to experience and organizational knowledge.

Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word and Excel.
- Self-starter able to succeed with minimal supervision or direct managerial oversight.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Auditor experience.
- Quality experience.
Work-at-Home Requirements
- Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
- Associates or contractors in California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed of 25x10 (25 Mbps download x 10 Mbps upload) is required; satellite and wireless internet service are not allowed.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
- While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
Pay
The pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $48,300 - $65,900 per year. The range may be higher or lower based on geographic location, and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
