About the role
The Quality Assurance Technician supports the verification, inspection, and quality control processes required for the NGC2 program, ensuring systems, components, and products meet established technical, regulatory, and program standards for the US Army.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of finished products and components, verifying conformance to specifications, standards, and documented requirements.
- Document inspection results and ensure traceability of quality data.
- Identify and diagnose equipment or product defects, assisting in determining root causes of out of specification (OOS) conditions.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Serve as a liaison between quality control and other departments, coordinating quality related activities and testing with Test Engineers.
- Support test setup, execution, and documentation in collaboration with Test Engineers, reviewing test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Supply quality control data needed for audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed records of inspections, testing activities, and equipment evaluations.
- Ensure all documentation meets quality assurance standards and program requirements, tracking and verifying the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Support safety and cleanliness of quality assurance work areas, complying with organizational safety, quality, and environmental practices.
Requirements
- Education: AA/AS degree from an accredited college OR Graduation from a 2-year technical school with certification in a relevant field.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance or quality control within a Defense environment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test standards; knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection methods, standards, and documentation practices; familiarity with failure analysis, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes; understanding of standard test methods and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Abilities & Work Style: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection documentation; effective communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to identify issues early and support timely resolution.
Qualifications
- Advanced Quality Skills.
- Experience supporting quality processes for electronics, mechanical assemblies, or integrated systems.
- Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or similar quality management standards.
- Experience with QA software tools or digital inspection systems.
- ASQ certifications (CQI, CQA, CQE), IPC inspection certifications (if electronics related).
Skills
- Ability to support audits, readiness reviews, or compliance assessments.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto).
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) or quality metrics.
