Main Responsibilities
- Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished milk products.
- Perform regular inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor and document equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Collaborate with production teams to address any quality-related issues promptly.
- Evaluate trends from test results and communicate these trends to employees and management.
- Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food Safety and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as needed.
- Record and analyze data and prepare reports on quality metrics.
- Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement, assist in the discipline to maintain a 6-S rating of an "A."
- Follow-up customer complaints and follow-up with production.
- Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of Safeway quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification.
- Any other project assigned.
What We Are Searching For
- Candidates with at least 1 year of QA experience.
- Food manufacturing experience is preferred; however, candidates with microbiology or chemical laboratory experience are also acceptable.
- Please note that this is a hands-on QA/QC position involving both lab work and production floor activities.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
- Strong mindfulness and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and regulations preferred.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Flexibility to work the specified shift and occasionally on weekends if required.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to multi-task in fast paced environment with limited supervision.
- Proficient in window-based PC programs.
- Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance preferred.
- Some knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety preferred.
Schedule
Flex- Depending on production demand.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $27.00 to $29.00 per hour.
