Duties and Responsibilities
- Makes work assignments as needed to meet production and Program Participant needs.
- Maintains and improves the Quality Management System.
- Supports the Quality Manager in maintaining & improving the Quality Management System.
- Conducts nonconformance and corrective action processes.
- Supports the Internal Auditing program.
- Supports Preventive Action and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Maintains and updates Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Trains and provides feedback to direct reports to achieve results.
- Supports the Quality Manager in maintaining & improving the Quality Management System.
- Participates in safety and quality investigations and recommends corrective action.
- Trains Orion staff on specific processes and equipment as identified on the qualification matrix.
- Leads departmental 6S activities to meet requirements.
- Makes time & labor corrections in Paylocity and Epicor for direct reports.
- Performs performance evaluations, improvement plans, and disciplinary actions for direct reports.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role.
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience.
- Experience supporting & conducting AS9100 audits is preferred.
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certificate preferred, or equivalent experience conducting and leading internal audits along with creating audit checklists & schedules.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), standard aerospace inspection methods, ability to interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Familiarity with Boeing Portal, SQIS, and Exostar.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collectively.
- Customer service skills; able to relate well to all customers internal as well as external customers.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.
- Frequent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship.
- Frequent use of hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions.
- Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds.
- Exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses.
- Exposure to excess noise levels, occasionally necessitating the use of Hearing Protection.
