Quality Assurance Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of the site Food Safety Management System, including document control, change management, allergen control, internal audits, sanitation validation/verification, and food safety plans.
- Coach and develop QC technicians in food safety management.
- Escalate food safety issues to site and quality leadership as needed.
- Design, deliver, and verify food safety and quality training for all employees, including GMP and SQF requirements.
- Lead the Food Safety Team and maintain food safety plans for finished goods.
- Issue and track corrective and preventive actions to close program gaps on time.
- Serve as the site Preventive Controls Qualified Individual and complete required preventive control verification activities.
- Lead customer and third-party audits and inspections for the facility.
- Oversee SQF, GMP, and FDA programs, including documentation, annual reviews, SOP updates, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct internal audits and review findings with Production.
- Manage the environmental monitoring, sanitation verification/validation, and supporting corporate food safety programs, including supplier quality, food fraud, and raw material hazard assessments.
- Investigate and communicate customer and internal complaints and non-conformances.
- Complete customer documentation requests related to the food safety and quality management system.
- Provide formula and specification information to support regulatory requests.
- Communicate food safety and quality information effectively across departments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, preferably food science, chemistry, microbiology, or biology.
- 4+ years of experience working within a GFSI-aligned food safety management system and 2+ years designing, implementing, and maintaining one, preferably in specialty ingredients or the food and beverage industry.
- HACCP certification or PCQI certification.
- Training or certification in a GFSI standard.
- Experience with third-party certification and customer audits.
- Prior people leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including SOPs and work instructions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a results-focused approach.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexible hours, including overtime and some weekends, when needed.

- Occasional lifting and moving up to 55 pounds.
