About the role

The Pictsweet Company is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the 2nd shift at our frozen vegetable processing facility in Bells, TN. This position supervises all quality systems for the flagship manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and manage all quality systems for day-to-day production and storage of quality products under clean, safe, and wholesome conditions.
  • Assure quality conformance to specifications and expectations for all products and processes.
  • Work with the Quality Systems Manager on continuous improvement initiatives for product quality.
  • Perform rapid decision-making and corrective actions to ensure the production of high-quality products.
  • Ensure proper grading of raw materials; learn product grading in detail and train Quality Technicians’ grading performance.
  • Perform regrading and hold decisions in accordance with facility SOPs.
  • Train and supervise employees in Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Execute BRC programs at the front line and production floor level.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures, including SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
  • Comply with all regulations relating to food safety and personnel safety, such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, and TOSHA.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments in the plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must reside within 20 miles of Bells, TN or be willing to relocate.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree if less than five years’ supervisory experience.
  • Experience: Five years’ experience as a supervisor in manufacturing, quality assurance, or a food environment. A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

  • Work Environment: Office and plant environment; frequently required to work in refrigerated or freezer conditions.
