Quality Assurance Supervisor - 2nd shift

About the role
The Quality Assurance Supervisor - 2nd shift will lead a variety of food safety and quality assurance programs. You will supervise audits and inspect processes to ensure compliance with current food safety and quality regulatory requirements, while leading and reviewing the work of a team of analysts or inspectors that evaluate raw materials, in-process goods, procedures, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain quality control systems and product or process verification systems, including sampling procedures and analytical tests to ensure all products meet food safety and quality requirements.
- Provide leadership, development, and talent management for direct reports, including forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training, and budgeting.
- Review the regulatory environment and develop response protocols for new or amended food safety legislation.
- Investigate food safety processes to ensure compliance, report noncompliance to management and governing bodies, and develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Evaluate vendors or suppliers for compliance with internal standards and external regulations, suggesting changes to improve processes or products.
- Make personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for direct reports, while also completing tasks alongside your team.
- Complete pre-shipment review and product clearances as needed.
- Effectively communicate FSQR and Micro results, including timely reporting of all quality assurance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum one year of directly related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience in quality assurance, food safety, food manufacturing, auditing, regulatory, or related field.
- Previous project management experience.
- Practical knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and operations.
- One year of supervisory experience.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with occasional weekends. Schedule will rotate within the team.
