About the role

The role is responsible for the ongoing review of all new consumer accounts and loans originated and processed within the credit union. The primary purpose is to ensure that approved underwriting guidelines are being used by all authorized lending personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the daily ongoing "quality control" function, including reviewing consumer and indirect loans, credit cards, and new account openings to verify documents are accurate and archived.
  • Work with all branch lending personnel to assure that approved underwriting procedures are used for all consumer accounts and loans.
  • Work reports noting exceptions to policy and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • One to two years of financial industry experience. Compliance or quality assurance experience preferred.
  • A high school degree or GED.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Logic and reasoning skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Skills

  • Must be able to bend, sit, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site as required.
  • Must be able to work regularly and reliably.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines and requirements for extreme accuracy and quality.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
  • Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
