Quality Assurance Specialist III
About the role
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist III to join our team. As a member of our dedicated professionals, you will contribute to enhancing the lives of Texans through comprehensive services and programs.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Reviews and Documentation: Perform quality assurance reviews and document guardianship information in the Guardianship On-Line (GOLD) database.
- Plan and Implement Quality Assurance Plans: Develop, renew, amend, and implement quality assurance plans at the field unit level.
- Training and Technical Assistance: Provide orientation, training, and assistance to Guardianship staff as needed.
- Evaluation and Recommendations: Interpret and implement policies, procedures, and management operations; make recommendations to management regarding quality assurance standards.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Conduct annual monitoring visits, prepare Plan of Corrections, and coordinate field and desk reviews to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
- Complaint Investigations: Investigate complaints against Guardianship Services staff and prepare reports detailing outcomes.
- Policy and Research: Perform technical, training, research, planning, program assessment, and administrative activities; develop and evaluate program policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder and Program Development: Conduct training and provide guidance to staff in developing new or revised methods and procedures; prepare and evaluate program budget requests.
- Special Projects and Initiatives: Participate in special projects and initiatives; analyze legislation and develop recommendations for policy and programmatic issues.
Requirements
Must be or become a Texas Certified Guardian within 12 months of employment and maintain certification every two years. Must pass an annual State of Texas criminal history check and a pre-employment criminal history check.
Qualifications
- Experience in a human service field or related field preferred.
- Experience interpreting policies, rules, standards, or regulations preferred.
- Experience in developing, overseeing, evaluating, or monitoring quality assurance plans.
- Experience in providing detailed written information to program staff.
- Experience in providing training and technical assistance to individuals preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in social services, psychology, human resources, business management, or related field is generally preferred.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate quality assurance plans and recommend amendments.
- Ability to evaluate policies, procedures, and standards according to HHSC Guardianship Services program requirements.
- Proficiency in working with computerized databases and standard office applications.

Pay
$4,263.16 - $6,779.25 per month
