About the role

Fleet Services seeks a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Chief of Staff’s Vehicle Compliance and Vehicle Prep Offices. Under supervision, this role conducts quality assurance inspections, inspects vehicles and automotive parts, prepares estimates, and manages records.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts quality assurance inspections to determine the acceptability and safe operation of automotive vehicles and transport equipment.
  • Inspects automotive parts, supplies, and repairs to ensure adherence to purchase or contract specifications, terms, conditions, and related regulations.
  • Assists in preparing estimates of price reductions for deliveries accepted conditionally.
  • Prepares new vehicles for intake in Fleet Focus, installs Geotab systems, EZ Pass, Wex card, and decals.
  • Affixes decals and processes DMV registrations for the agency’s vehicles.
  • Aids in vehicle deliveries and salvage operations, liaises with DCAS BQA inspectors, coordinates with vehicle coordinators, and vendors on build issues, and coordinates with Accounts Payable staff on delivery schedules and payments.
  • Determines the extent of need for repairs in service vehicles and monitors all warranty agreements.
  • Updates and maintains records and prepares fleet reports and analysis using computer systems (Fleet Focus vehicle maintenance system and Geotab).
  • Manages and maintains EZ Pass system, including processing invoices, payments, and following up with vehicle coordinators.
  • Operates a motor vehicle in performance of duties.
  • Performs quality assurance inspections of items unrelated to those described above.
  • Performs the duties of the supervisor in their temporary absence.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and four years of satisfactory full-time experience conducting quality assurance inspections and tests.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college, plus two years and six months of satisfactory full-time experience.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, plus one year of satisfactory full-time experience.
  • A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience as described in the requirements.
  • License Requirement: A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York.

Pay

$52,453.00 – $74,423.00
