About the Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist will work with BWCC’s Operations Leadership Team to strengthen the QA/QC culture and enhance performance predictability across the territory. This role ensures that products and services meet desired quality standards through developing and implementing quality control procedures, monitoring performance, and addressing quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures.
  • Monitor product performance and identify quality issues.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate all quality inspections within assigned projects through the Global Quality Resource Coordinator.
  • Oversee projects and products to ensure adherence to the B&W Global Quality process, including:
    • Specification Review
    • Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Development
    • Pre-Inspection Meetings with Client and Vendor Resources for ITP Execution
    • Management of Non-Conformance Reports and their resolution
    • Determination of Corrective Actions and involvement of Vendor Control
    • Client meetings
    • Preparation and transmission of post-fabrication documentation, ASME Code Data books, and client product dossiers.
  • Ensure inspections are performed by the geographically closest qualified inspector using B&W global quality resources or third-party inspectors.
  • Ensure all necessary quality data is entered into the appropriate program for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Interact with other managers to coordinate a fully integrated quality program.
  • Participate in quality improvements across the quality system, offices, shops, and vendors.
  • Handle client complaints.
  • Support ASME, ISO, and other certification audit processes.
  • Perform internal and external audits as directed by Global Quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (preferred).
  • Foreign assignment experience is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Positive response to internal and external client requests.
  • Experience in fabrication by welding and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of pressure part fabrication and structural steel/plate fabrication.
  • Familiarity with ASME, AWS, and ISO codes.
  • Project management focus (cradle-to-grave client relationships, problem-solving, vendor claims, root cause analysis, etc.).

Working Conditions

  • Domestic travel required.
  • Manufacturing environment.
