Quality Assurance Specialist
About the Role

Help support the production of high-quality building products at our West Salem plant. This role involves performing physical testing on products to maintain certifications and recording results per ASTM 7793 and ASTM 4726.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 program.
- Maintain organizational filing systems, inspection logs, and sample retention including AAMA and VSI requirements.
- Perform physical testing required to maintain certifications and record results per ASTM 7793 and ASTM 4726.
- Understand and apply the NCM process for internal and external customer returns.
- Maintain calibration systems for all devices, gages, and instruments on your respective shift.
- Perform random product audits, including safety, QC inspections, SOP audits, and 5S.
- Communicate non-conformances during production audits.
- Train operators and technicians on test methods and AMI standards.
- Function as a Production Supervisor on occasion (after 1 year of service).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in the manufacturing process, preferably in extrusion.
- Experience in quality and testing.
- Knowledge of the product or services in manufacturing.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Strong understanding of quality standards (specification) and processes (standard work, visual aids).
Skills
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and lab equipment.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office.
- Preferred: CAD experience.
- Preferred: Mechanical aptitude.
Schedule
Rotational shifts: 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekends as part of the rotation.
