About the role

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Superintendent in our Gladstone, VA. Riverville Paper Mill. Responsibilities

Protect the plant's equipment and facilities through work planning, failure analysis, continuous improvement, operational troubleshooting, employee training and development and organization optimization. This position supervises maintenance, mechanical, and electrical staff and includes planning and scheduling maintenance work responsibilities.

  • Manage all quality assurance and quality control aspects of mechanical repairs
  • Manage tank integrity projects for tanks requiring maintenance according to API 653 regulations
  • Support portions of larger capital projects requiring new tank construction per API 650 and/or significant tank upgrades
  • Collaborate with Operations, Scheduling, and Environmental to develop schedule for performing tank work
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, schedules, materials and contract specifications, procurement plans, and work plans for projects, track and report on project progress and performance
  • Plan, schedule, and execute tank integrity projects to meet Company standards and policies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projects
  • Prepare the annual sustaining capital budget and major maintenance budget for tank integrity
  • Ensure tank inspection and repairs are documented per regulatory requirements and Company standards and that they are being maintained, organized, and can be accessed for future reference as needed
  • Provide technical support during the review of tank integrity processes and procedures to maintain consistent assessment and repair practices
  • Provide support for field maintenance technicians and operations staff
  • Maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety as well as the safety of employees, the public, and company assets
  • Maintaining and enforcing the Approved Manufacturers List for materials

Qualifications

Engineering degree is preferred with a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Vessel Codes (Sec VIII Div I & II)
  • Knowledge of ASME Piping Codes (B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8)
  • Knowledge of Pressure Vessel Inspection (API 510)
  • Knowledge of Pressure Piping Inspection (API 570)
  • Knowledge of Pressure Relief Systems (API 520/526)
  • Knowledge of Tank Evaluations (API 620/650/653)
  • Knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection (API 580/581)
  • Knowledge of Fitness for Service (API 579)
  • Knowledge of Damage Mechanisms (API 571)

Preferred qualifications include API 653 Tank Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector-CWI, Certified Level II Ultra Sonic Testing per ASNT SNT-TC-1A, Mag Particle and Dye penetrant testing, and X-Ray film interpretation.

Pay

Starting salary range for position: $96,000 to $120,000
