About the role

REEL USA Corp. is the US entity of REEL International and a subsidiary of REEL-COH Inc. based in Quebec, Canada, with 80 years of experience in the custom design and manufacturing, inspection, service, refurbishment and modernization of lifting and handling systems. This position is not eligible for sponsorship in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure products, materials, and processes meet the highest quality standards, including ASME and NQA-1 requirements.
  • Oversee quality control on material reception, in-process fabrication/assembly, final delivery, and supporting the quality system.
  • Work in a safe manner, actively participating in safety programs, attending scheduled team meetings, and completing safety training requirements.
  • Validate quality records against applicable standards, drawings, and purchasing requirements.
  • Inspect the quality of materials for production use, inspect in-process product, and manage non-compliance reports.
  • Write inspection reports and other quality documents, participate in quality system improvement, perform quality control inspections, and support quality assurance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment, including experience working under NQA-1 and/or ASME quality requirements.
  • Proven experience in writing and maintaining quality processes and procedures in a QMS environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Autonomy and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Knowledgeable about metrology, materials, calibration, auditing, and inspection techniques with demonstrated ability to utilize relevant hand tools for these purposes.
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with ISO 9001, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Documentation Practices and understand the concept of traceability (product, material, and calibration).
  • Willing and able to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, with strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills, and ability to work independently.
  • A proven positive safety, health, and environmental record, with familiarity with topics such as personal protective equipment, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hot work, safe work permitting, emergency response, and hazard awareness.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations, experience with accident and near miss reporting, incident investigation, and accountability to standards.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and good touch perception.
  • Physical requirements include climbing stairs and ladders, standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting for extended periods, working at heights, ladders, and/or grating.
  • Ability to distinguish visual colors and shapes through location and maintain through the course of employment.
