Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans
• Ensure all work complies with: Contract documents and specifications
• Owner and Engineer requirements
• Applicable building codes and industry standards
• OSHA and project safety standards
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders for compliance
• Conduct pre-installation meetings and quality planning sessions
• Support final project closeout and commissioning documentation
• Perform daily field inspections of self-performed and subcontracted work
• Ensure materials delivered to site meet approved submittals
• Track and verify resolution of punch list items
• Collaborate with field leadership to troubleshoot quality issues
• Prepare documentation required for certifications and compliance
• Promote safety-first culture in all quality processes
• Ensure work methods align with safety standards and PPE requirements
• Integrate Job Safety Analysis (JSA) considerations into quality inspections

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in civil infrastructure construction
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with quality documentation and field inspections
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Able to communicate effectively with field crews, management, and engineers
• Willingness to travel to active jobsites across Iowa and other states if needed
