About the role
MM is a global leader in consumer packaging. Responsibilities
- Conduct random in-process inspections in accordance with established MM procedures and verify that required testing methods are used on the production floor.
- Verify line clearance during and after production, confirm floor-facing equipment is available and within calibration, and review first articles of first sellable products for accuracy.
- Monitor quality, segregation, documentation, security, environmental conditions, preventive maintenance checks, and production controls during manufacturing operations.
- Immediately communicate out-of-control observations and significant quality concerns to production supervision, quality management, and plant management.
- Calibrate measurement and test equipment as assigned and maintain retained production samples and color standards.
- Review production samples and production flow documentation to support job release activities.
- Conduct Gemba walks, document internal quality concerns, provide immediate corrective training, and verify that identified gaps are addressed.
- Investigate production deviations and support resolution of customer complaints in coordination with Quality leadership.
- Conduct internal audits as directed by the Quality manager and audit site pest-control program.
- Maintain assigned training records and complete other duties consistent with the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Quality Inspector or 2 years’ experience in a related position.
- Associate degree.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions, technical information, procedures, and production documentation.
- Basic mathematical proficiency, including percentages, weights, measurements, and routine calculations.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to recognize problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions presented in written, mathematical, and diagram form.
