About the role
The Structural Field Inspector supports the execution of Asset Integrity and Asset Management programs at client facilities in rural areas between Dallas, TX and Houston, TX. This role performs field inspections of existing structural assets, documents conditions, and collects data for risk-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of industrial structures, including steel, concrete, foundations, platforms, and other assets
- Document observed conditions, deficiencies, and safety concerns
- Communicate P1 or critical findings to the Field Project Manager or Program Manager
- Comply with safety requirements and complete safety documentation
- Coordinate daily field activities with the Field Project Manager and client personnel
- Maintain accurate records and prepare inspection reports
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3–7 years of experience performing structural or asset integrity inspections
- TWIC card holder preferred
- Prior experience with Asset Management, Asset Integrity, Mechanical Integrity (MI), or Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs
- Familiarity with digital inspection tools, mobile data collection, or asset tracking systems
- Experience working in consulting engineering or inspection services environments
- Experience working at asset-intensive facilities like power generation, oil & gas, refining, chemical processing, manufacturing, steel, mining, or materials processing sites
- Strong understanding of structural components and common deterioration mechanisms
- Able to accurately document field observations using written notes and photographs
Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to client sites
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
