Quality Assurance, Officer

About the role

Work as a senior member of automation center of excellence team to execute the overall quality plan for Charles River’s products. Provide support and assistance to customers and other teams within Charles River.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the team of developers in the QA COE to build tools needed for the QA Engineering team from the ground up
• Expand the test automation framework capabilities needed to comprehensively test business requirements for all products and services
• Create pipelines to execute automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests
• Maintain automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
• Align with the Software Development Life Cycle practices, comply with Information Security and Data Governance practices
• Interpret results of automation tests and document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team members
• Provide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in the Scrum team’s QA methodology, innovate by researching and recommending new approaches to automation of testing, including use of Artificial Intelligence
• Adequately adhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product delivery
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Participate in “testathon” activities as required by releases
• Guide and mentor junior staff in best practices and proper creation of automated test scripts

Qualifications

• Education: B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.
• Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience in building tools and supporting test automation frameworks in an enterprise, process-driven environment
• Programming skills: Strong programming skills in JAVA, C# , shell scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash
• Automation experience: Hands-on experience implementing automation tools and framework with industry standard tools like Rest Assured, Playwright, Azure SDK, Kafka SDK, Cosmos DB, Swagger, Silk4Net, FlaUI, Talend strongly preferred
• Test case experience: Demonstrated experience implementing and executing automation test scripts against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applications
• Pipelines experience: Experience with creating and updating on-demand pipelines and experience with relevant tools TeamCity, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD is preferred
• Test verification: Demonstrated experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for verifying requirements on multi-tier applications
• Business understanding: Knowledgeable in one or more CRD functional areas is a plus
• Agile knowledge: A minimum of 3 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desired
