About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the Quality System at Dupuy Group's facility. This includes oversight of the quality system, HACCP-based food safety plans, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Food Safety Leader and certified SQF Practitioner skilled in executing GMP, HACCP, and GFSI systems to protect brand equity, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Implements continuous improvement strategies across food manufacturing environments.
  • Verifies Dupuy employees follow procedures to assure certification requirements are met; certifications include, but are not limited to, Silliker, SQF, USFDA, FDA, FSMA, EU Supplier, ICC, ICE, LME, Canada Export, Customs Bonded Warehouse, Kosher, Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, ISO, etc.
  • Ensures adherence to all food safety regulations and quality standards on the plant floor(s), including contractor and construction projects.
  • Provides coaching and follows up with technicians and operations to ensure compliance.
  • Stays current with shifting FDA and USDA regulations through structured professional development.
  • Develops and implements policies, process control procedures, training and monitoring, and standard practices.
  • Ensures that FDA and Organic requirements are documented and maintained to ensure compliance.
  • Hires, trains, and manages a team of Quality Assurance personnel and employees who understand the nature of controls to ensure product quality and food safety guidelines are followed.
  • Drives quality and compliance initiatives based on defined performance metrics, operations, and leadership feedback.
  • Audits “Facility Good Manufacturing Practices” compliance (team members).
  • Maintains the technical expertise of the team with recurring training in all areas within their functional area.
  • Reviews all paperwork to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Investigates and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Assists with facility, customer, and third-party audits and audit preparation.
  • Participates in investigations of product failures and customer complaints.
  • May provide recommended solutions to the management team.
  • Communicates with all levels of management to ensure control of processes is maintained.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains pest control procedures and policies; plans, implements, and maintains insect pest tracking and trend analysis and reviews such reports.
  • Recommends appropriate additional pest control actions when deemed necessary; communicates regularly with contracted, licensed pest control companies.
  • Identifies opportunities and supports the creation and implementation of plant processes and/or product improvement projects.
  • Maintains the technical expertise of the team with recurring training in all areas within their functional area.
  • Ensures that reports required by warehousers are internally produced, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Audits “Facility Good Manufacturing Practices” compliance (team members).
  • Regularly meets and communicates with all functional groups within Manufacturing Operations to analyze data from various reports, determine trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for process improvement.
  • Meets monthly to discuss compliance issues, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the annual review of documents in the management system.
  • Makes sure guidelines and policies are being carried out within the facility.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education required: Bachelor’s Degree (4 YR) or equivalency.
  • Minimum of 30 semester hours of science-based courses: chemistry, biology, physics, etc.
  • Basic math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and simple fractions.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal.
  • Logical, methodological and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in the practice application of scientific method.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; experience with Inventory Management software (Royal 4).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matter.
  • Leadership skills to ensure prompt and correct compliance amongst all departments on site.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Knowledge in Safety Absolutes, GMP and PPE standards.
  • Continuing education/training in quality assurance and safety is MANDATORY.
  • Completion of Certified Quality Training, PCQI training course, Certified HACCP training course, and Certified Food Defense training course.
  • Training certificates shall be maintained to demonstrate successful completion.
